⁴⁸Therefore, you are witnesses^(A) that you approve^[a]^(B) the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their monuments.^[b] ⁴⁹Because of this, the wisdom of God^(C) said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles,^(D) and some of them they will kill and persecute,’^(E) ⁵⁰so that this generation^(F) may be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world^[c]^(G) —
